TALKING CARE? HAVE YOUR SAY! NEED AN ANSWER?

Home and Residential care advice

People who have previously had to arrange care are often eager to share their knowledge and experience with those who are starting their journey.

There is nothing more reassuring than speaking to someone who has “been through it before” and it can be a great comfort knowing you are not alone at this potentially stressful time.

Have you had to arrange care before? Can you offer any advice or share your knowledge with those who need it?

If you need help or simply wish to tell your story, please don’t hesitate to post below. Remember, people want to listen and are keen to help if they can.

  • Recommended care home in Surrey / Hampshire area?

I am looking at some different care homes in the Surrey / Hampshire area for my mother and was wondering if anyone can recommend one?

  • #2
I would look at the CQC report for homes in the area before choosing and look at a few different ones to get the feel of the home and if this will suit your mother. When you visit speak to staff, residents and relatives if there are any there. Some homes offer a taster day so that your mother could spend the day there and see how she feels about the home. Don't forget to ask about costs if your mother is funding herself, you don't want to choose a home that your mother cannot stay in if her money runs out and the local authority have to pay for her care.
